We’re passionate at EcoTensil about helping reduce plastic in packaging, food service, and sampling. Our mission is to offer the very best disposable, resource-efficient, compostable, recyclable*, single-use cutlery to reduce the amount of waste impacting our planet and future generations.
Our cutlery is available in three types of paperboard
AquaDot™: Our longer-lasting, plastic-free, compostable, recyclable*, sustainably-forested paperboard is SUPD compliant and PEFC® certified. Perfect for foodservice and packaging.
GreenDot™: Compostable, biodegradable, recyclable*, FSC® certified, economical. Great for sampling and small servings.
BlueDot™: Long-lasting line due to its thin poly coating; material efficient. This product range was phased out in Europe in July 2021.

All three product ranges:
• Use up to 85% less material overall than plastic or wooden cutlery!
• Ultra compact for transport, storage, and placement on packaging.
• Sturdy, moisture-resistant paperboard, similar to a paper coffee cup. AquaDot and GreenDot lines are SUPD compliant.
• Silky smooth, approved by third party sensory lab for pleasing consumer experience and positive impact on food.
• Taste-free and won’t detract from enjoyment of food like wooden utensils can.
• FDA compliant for food contact (US).

Many of our eco-friendly utensil styles are available to order in this sturdy new paper-board, which is ideal for packaging and foodservice.

AquaDot range attributes:
✔ SUPD-compliant – Allowable under the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive for cutlery.
✔ Plastic-free – AquaDot products are certified as plastic-free by Din Certco and hold the prestigious Flustix certification. The paperboard has also been independently verified plastic-free by ISEGA.
✔ Reduce – Uses 60-80% less material and space than plastic/wooden cutlery.
✔ Manufactured and packed in a BRC-certified facility.
✔ FDA compliant for food contact (for US).
Our paperboard is:
✔ Compostable – OK compost HOME conformity issued by TÜV Austria and EN 13432 conformity issued by ISEGA Germany.
✔ Recyclable – Certified according to EN13430.
✔ Food safety compliant to REACH directive 1907/2006 (Europe) Article 33 ECHA + Directive 2008/98/EC (SVHC).
✔ EN 1935/2004, BFR36 (Europe) food packaging compliances verified by ISEGA.

The best ways to reduce our exploding human footprint on our one and only planet is to simply reduce the amount of material we use.
EcoTensil cutlery is extremely material efficient, using between 60-80% of the material and space of plastic, bio-plastic, or wooden utensils.
Forest Stewardship Council, the world’s most trusted forest certification system, announced its 2021 FSC® Leadership Awards, recognizing EcoTensil for uncommon excellence that advances responsible forest management and forest conservation.
The lifecycle of EcoTensil cutlery begins with well-managed forests, where biodiversity is allowed to thrive, waterways are healthy, and CO2 is sequestered.

Reducing material also means a significantly lighter carbon footprint in shipping.
EcoTensil has added a warehouse and distribution facility centrally located in the Netherlands to serve the EU and beyond.

In our own “home compost” tests, EcoTasters break down completely in 3–5 weeks, so they should have no problem breaking down in composting facilities that require 180 days! Happily, the number of compost facilities is increasing, so items like food waste and EcoTasters can be regenerated in a closed loop lifecycle.
